My Tortilla Programme
Policy measure

The My Tortilla Programme was initiated by the Secretariat of the Economy, the Nacional Financiera and Trust for Saving Electricity (FIDE) to support the technical modernization of the cornmeal and tortilla industry (ECLAC, 2010).


One of the main objectives of the Program is to prevent pollution by reducing the consumption of electricity, thermal energy (gas) and water (ECLAC, 2010).

Implementation

According to ECLAC (2010), the programme seeks to achieve its objective by providing access to preferential financing for business owners who need to replace inefficient equipment with energy saving technology.


The modernizing is threefold, covering administrative, commercial and technological modernization (ECLAC, 2010).
