Energy Efficiency Improvement Programmes

According to APERC (2010), several Energy Efficiency Improvement Programmes have been established in Thailand for the industry sector to reduce energy demand and promote the efficient use of energy.


Promotion of energy management is one of the extensive policy measures that have been introduced (APERC, 2010).

Although no specific outcomes have been identified for the technical assistance component, APERC (2010) reports that “the overall achievement [of the Energy Efficiency Improvement Programs] in terms of energy saving for industry sector in Thailand has been measured at USD 160 million and USD 750 million in 2004 and 2008, respectively”. The programme sought to increase industrial energy demand by 10.8 percent by 2011.
