Energy Efficiency Improvement Programs
Policy measure

According to APERC (2010), several Energy Efficiency Improvement Programs have been established for the Thai industry sector to reduce energy demand and promote efficient energy use.

Implementation

Technical assistance and collaboration with major private corporations (firm commitment and top-down approach) are some of the extensive policy measures which have been introduced (APERC, 2010).

Outcomes

Although no specific outcomes have been identified for the technical assistance component, APERC (2010) reports that “the overall achievement [of the Energy Efficiency Improvement Programs] in terms of energy saving for industry sector in Thailand has been measured at USD 160 million and USD 750 million in 2004 and 2008, respectively”.
