Technical Support Centre
Policy measure

According to ECLAC (2010), technical assistance in Chile is supported and promoted by the Global Environment Fund (GEF) through the project Promoting and Strengthening an Energy Efficiency Market in the Industry Sector.

The project is funded by external contributors with a total of USD 2.637 million. A great amount of the foreign funding is aimed at technical assistance through the establishment of a Technical Support Centre (ECLAC, 2010).

Implementation

According to GEF (2010), the Centre will be consolidated “as a "one-stop shop" by increasing the know-how in EE, establishing an EE strategy for the country and its implementation plan, and developing communication strategy to create awareness among financial institutions, ESCOs, energy consultants, and energy end-users (industrial and commercial SMEs).”
